GLB Easter edition has been and gone, and what an amazing time we had! Carl Brooks’ (AKA our energetic, friendly and patient GLB Eggman) reflected on the long weekend, “Every activity in God Loves Battersea was full of energy: from the kids’ club and parents’ cafe to the Battersea Got Talent, from the Good Friday reflection to Easter Day Celebration. So many people attended to all of the activities and to see them having fun is awesome. God definitely loves Battersea!”
Check out our Flickr page for some more pictures. For those of you suffering GLB withdrawal symptoms, do not fear! The bumper summer week-long God Loves Battersea will be 12th-18th August so get it in your diary and it would be amazing if you could book some holiday off during the week if you’re working.
We are part of a vibrant and multicultural community and we’re looking for an experienced full-time youth pastor and part-time children’s pastor to lead and grow our outreach for young people. Do you think you’ve got what it takes?

Ok so my favourite film is Star Wars.
How no-one guessed this in the quiz on the church weekend away is beyond me
Alright then, I suppose it’s not the typical girl’s choice – I definitely saw that one team had me down as a Four Weddings and a Funeral fan- which makes me slightly worry about what sort of vibe I’m giving out… but anyway I digress!
I’m here to let you in on my thoughts about our weekend away. I’d not been away with a church before and if you’d asked me in advance what I might expect I probably wouldn’t have said Zumba (dance fitness), paper aeroplane competitions or quite so much cheesecake, but I might have said community, fun, fellowship and hearing from God. And it was all of those brilliant things. But the overwhelming feeling I have about it can be summed up in one word: blessing.
For loads of reasons:
Vicky and Sharon waiting at the train station with a taxi for us when we arrived. The beautiful blessing bags named for each of us.
The great food, and grounds to wander about in.
The fact that people came from other churches to teach and run the children’s sessions.
Malcolm’s teaching, which inspired and challenged us to encounter God.
The times of prayer, prophecy and worship with others and quiet times with God alone.
The entertainment on Saturday with something for everyone.
And the Sunday prayer tunnel where we spoke words of encouragement over each other.
All in all, I was just overwhelmed how much God loves us and desires us to encounter him.
Thanks everyone for an amazing weekend!
“The Lord your God is with you… He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. ” Zephaniah 3:17

During our Christmas God Loves Battersea event, we held a Pensioners’ Tea Party event at St Peter’s on Saturday 10 December. One of our Church family, Harriet Bradshaw, conducted a fascinating interview with one of our guests. Listen to it on Harriet’s blog!
When asked how she was finding the tea party, Dorothy, aged 82, replied:
“Absolutely wonderful, I can’t really put it into words, it’s like love, you cannot explain love, the most important thing is the caring, the caring is absolutely wonderful, to greet people and to love them is so wonderful, that’s what you need in life.”
